The team of Hope Community Clinic in SW Uganda send their greetings and thanks for your prayers and financial support which enables them to provide affordable, compassionate healthcare to the Rwentobo community who are marginalised by poverty.
Kato Julius, the lead clinical officer has now returned to the clinic after taking a break and training to use the ultrasound scanner whilst at Kisiizi Hospital. He is now able to use the scanner to screen for disease as well as to screen expectant mothers. Clinton has also joined the team as a data clerk, booking in patients as they arrive, but currently he has to use the laptop in the dispensary as there is no computer available in reception for him to use.
The weekly baby immunisation clinics continue to be well attended. We are still hoping that it might be possible to have things in place to provide full maternity services by the end of December, but the following are still required in order to achieve this:
- A computer for the new data clerk - approx £330
- Placenta pit, incinerator and fencing - approx £5,000
- Replacement solar batteries or generator - £4,000 to £6,000
- Furniture - about £300
- Maternity equipment for intrapartum care - initial stocks and ongoing costs
Applications have been made to charitable trusts but, so far, there has been no response. Please pray for provision and donate if you are able to using the info at the foot of this email.
The following flyer shows details of a fundraising quiz night on 9th November. Please register your teams by 2nd November as shown or let us know if you would like to part of a team. Everyone welcome so please share this event with as many as possible.
With love and thanks from our joyful Clinic team and from Mission Rwentobo trustees.
