All at Hope Community Clinic send their greetings and thanks to all those who support Mission Rwentobo, both financially and in prayer. Our team of three nurses, one pastor and one photographer, who visited from 6th to 18th February, were warmly welcomed and we were encouraged and inspired by the fantastic clinic team and the much improved clinic in which they now work. Thanks to your support, the building looked completely different to our visit in September '23, both inside and out.

We have much to thank God for:
- The whole clinic team team demonstrated excellent holistic care for child and adult patients.
- 3 or 4 children were diagnosed and treated for malaria most days, so lives were saved.
- Midwife Brenda is proficient in using the ultrasound scanner which is the only one in the area. This is attracting more antenatal women so that they can check that baby is OK.
- Aid in the form of medical equipment, baby blankets and clothes, children's shoes, ties and scarves were gratefully received.
- Thanks to a very generous single donation from a supporter, the solar power upgrade was completed a few days after we left. This has resolved the problem of recurrent electricity outages, which we witnessed while we were in the clinic.
- As trustees of Mission Rwentobo, Debbie and Mick Burke attended a management team meeting with representatives from Kisiizi Hospital, World Shine Ministries and the Clinic, and a strategy was agreed to work towards full maternity care by the end of September 2025.

A summary of activities and visits:
- A community visit to a widow and her family who were living in very poor circumstances since the death of her husband.
- A talk about personal hygiene and menstruation at a very poor government funded school where girls were given re-usable sanitary pads and instructed regarding their use.
- Helping to administer immunisations at the clinic and observing and helping with general care.
- A visit to the Rukiga community where 43 families had recently joined the health insurance scheme. We took part in a talk on minimising the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure and checked blood sugars and BP readings, finding one lady with possible pre-eclampsia

Our team were also delighted to be able to attend the wedding of clinic lead, Julius, and Susan. A joyful day! Please join us in praying for the following:
- The new accounts assistant, Evelyne, who started in February. Please pray that she settles happily and communicates effectively with the finance manager at Kisiizi Hospital.
- Julius and Susan as they settle into married life.
- For midwife Brenda who is expecting a baby in June. She will then be on maternity leave until the end of September.
- For funds to become available to provide for the infrastructure and equipment for full maternity services to commence by September / October.
- The withdrawal of USAid from Uganda will have a big impact on the control of HIV, which is increasing, as well as on malaria treatment and possibly the provision of immunisations. Please pray that the Uganda health department can overcome these challenges.
We are so grateful for your prayers and financial support which are essential for the success of this project. Our visit to the clinic has confirmed that every penny donated to Mission Rwentobo is put to good use to demonstrate God's love and compassion for a very needy community. We have so much more to share of the love and generosity which we received in Uganda as well as the lives which are being transformed through the work of Kisiizi Hospital, World Shine Ministries and Hope Community Clinic. We have therefore booked an evening to share slides and give a broader update on Thursday 20th March in Long Mead Lounge at Tonbridge Baptist Church, starting at 7.30 with refreshments and finishing by 9.30pm latest. Please join us if you are able to.
Blessings to you all and many thanks on behalf of the clinic team.Debbie Burke, on behalf of the trustees of Mission Rwentobo.
